to Fully-Disposable Rodent Caging System
(Salt Lake City, UT, October 16, 2006) – Innovive, Inc.,
a technology development and manufacturing company, today announced
the availability of five new products that dramatically expand
the capabilities and benefits of the company’s Innovive®
System, the industry’s first fully-disposable, dual HEPA-filtered
rodent caging system. The announcement was made at the National
Meeting of the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science,
being held in Salt Lake City, UT.
The Innovive System eliminates washing, sterilization and storage of change-out caging, thus streamlining vivarium operations and freeing up personnel and resources. It can reduce the fully-loaded cost of vivarium operations by more than 40 percent, while doubling animal housing capacity.
The Innovive System has three major components: the Innocage®; a single-use, fully-disposable cage for housing rodents; the Innorack®, a lightweight dual HEPA-filtered cage rack that holds up to 168 Innocage units and offers superior airflow and ergonomic features; and the Aquavive™ single-use irradiated recyclable 330ml water bottle.
The five new enhancements to the Innovive
System are:
The Innocage’s patent-pending design uses thin-walled polymers that both maintain security and eliminate chewing. The snap-on top forms an air-tight seal, and a built-in filter allows the cage to breathe when outside the rack, while preventing contaminants from entering the cage. The complete Innocage® weighs less than nine ounces, and is made of virgin PETE #1, one of the world’s most recycled polymers.
“These enhancements to the Innovive System make it possible for more vivariums to choose a fully-disposable model for managing their rodent populations,” said Dee Conger, Innovive’s CEO. “Because the Innovive System is both low-risk and low-cost, vivariums can expand their operations with minimal capital expense – while preserving their legacy infrastructure investments.”
