INNOVIVE SYSTEM AIRFLOW: THE SCIENCE

The advanced engineering behind Innovive's patent-pending airflow system dramatically improves the evacuation of moisture and gases at the cage level over traditional systems while simultaneously eliminating all air velocity or "wind" from inside the cage.

The result is a cleaner, more comfortable environment for your animals.

THERE ARE TWO IMPORTANT INNOVATION THAT MADE THIS POSSIBLE:

  1. The first relates to the cage design.
    Both the supply and exhaust port are on the top of the cage with the supply air entering near the front of the cage and exhausted near the rear. The food tray in the middle of the cage serves as a baffle, creating a directional airflow and "purging" effect. Traditional systems rely purely on mixing the air molecules in order for them to be exhausted from the cage.
    The results are dramatic: by creating a directional purging of air through the cage vs. a pure mixing environment the Innovive system evacuates moisture and gases at 30% more efficient rate.


  2. The second innovation is the way airflow is controlled and delivered to the cage. Instead of "blowing" air into the cage, Innovive uses a high-pressure plenum to control the airflow being delivered to each cage position.
    The air is forced from the plenum through high-precision nozzles before being introduced to the cage.

    This results in our ability to precisely control the exact volume of air being introduced and evacuated at every cage position, regardless of whether or not there is a cage present in the rack. The actual velocity of the air entering the cage is less than what can be felt by the animals (or people) even when directly in the path of the air resulting in a draft-less environment.


The light blue represents the purging limit. The performace of the Innovive System beats the mathematical mixing limit because it more closely meets the purging model.
After 4 minutes the Innovive System expels 98% of particulate and gases with a lower flow rate than traditional systems. ( 40 ACH vs 60-95ACH).

    These innovations have resulted in a cage environment that accrues a range of benefits:
  • Lower CO2 concentrations;
  • Lower ammonia concentrations;
  • More efficient evacuation of moisture from the bedding;
  • No air velocity or "wind" felt by the animals, opening up all 75" inches of floor space as comfortable living area.
