BSL APPLICATIONS
The BMBL recommends, whenever possible, using disposable materials that can be autoclaved and incinerated (1).
The Innocage® BSL Mouse is the only system that provides a new cage at every change providing peace of mind and guaranteeing sterility.

INNOVIVE BSL SYSTEM:
PART 1: Innocage® BSL Mouse
- FEWER PROCESS STEPS:
- New cages are used for every change-out.
- Dirty cages are bagged and sealed under the hood
- Bagged cages are incinerated or autoclaved
PART 2: Aquavive Water Bottle
- AVAILABLE EMPTY OR PREFILLED
The Aquavive® water bottle is delivered pre-filled with a quick access, peel-away tab and filled with purified, laboratory grade acidified water.
Also available empty for self filling.
PART 3: Innorack® IVC ( Mouse and Rat) or InnoslimTM (Mouse)
- STATE-OF-THE-ART NEGATIVE MODE VENTILLATION.
The Innocage® BSL is designed for use in either Innorack® or InnoslimTM.
- DYNAMIC CONTROLLER SETTINGS.
Allows users to select positive, negative or balanced modes of operation while the closed loop controller dynamically maintains user settings on both intake and exhaust blowers.
BSL PERFORMACE VALIDATION:
Most recently Innovive contracted an independent
testing facility to perform a series of 3rd party validation tests on the Innocage BSL.
The company is an A2LA accredited lab(2), specializing in contaminate control and particulate measurement.
In addition to using an independent 3rd party to perform these tests, we also chose to perform the measurement testing against the IEST RP-CC0021.1 (Fractional Retention Efficiency Enclosure Test), a highly stringent testing method.
The test was performed using latex spheres. The spheres are introduced into the supply port, which was operating at 48 ACH. The spheres entering the cage are counted and their size measured.
The Innocage was tested in two different modes of ventilated operation; any spheres escaping from the cage are captured downstream, counted and measured to calculate the efficiency data below:
NOTE: although it would be rare to operate a BSL application in
positive mode, it does show a the full range of containment achieved by the Innocage
Please note that in addition to achieving this standard of cage-level containment, the Innorack employs a quad-fan ventilation system that provides rack-level HEPA filtration for both the supply and exhaust sides of the system.
